A Week of Love

"Love Cannot Be Measured"

I have been working on my
week by week
and enjoying every minute
of filling my journal pages
with art and words.

This week's prompt
was to repeat a shape
onto the page
so I chose hearts!
(in honor of Valentine's Day Week)
I used watercolor, inks,
rubber stamping, stickers, punches,
stitching on my sewing machine
and created this journal page
along with my own quote

I do believe in love . . .
Love for my precious husband
Love for my children
and my granddaughter Annabelle Lily
Love for my granddoggie Nollie
Love created in friendships
Love for my art and my creative life
Love for the written word
Love for senior adults

Love is all around
if only you will see!
It is in the tiny moments,
the cherished times,
the smiles given to others,
kindness extended,
it is a free gift in our life.
It is there for the taking and the giving!

I am wishing you a beautiful week,
a Happy Valentine's Day,
Joyous moments with your loved ones,
remember to Love yourself
along the way!
I am sending you Peace and Love
You, my readers
are precious to me!

Lessons learned while teaching others

Leading seniors through
creative writing every Thursday evening

What a joy it is for me to help
facilitate a senior adult creative writing group
once a week at the beautiful
First Colonial Inn

Working with Senior Adults has taught
me to be more patient, compassionate
and understanding.
Helping Seniors to write down their
memories and feelings
has become a sincere source of joy for me.
I thought I would be teaching them so much,
instead it is I that has learned from them!
They have stolen my heart
with their hugs, their love and their stories and poems.
I have learned to have a more compassionate heart
and to be more understanding of the senior adult
they have so much to offer us,
if only we will take the time
to listen.
What beautiful souls they are!

Teaching art to others
through An Artful Spirit Workshops

When I lead others through our
Artful Spirit Workshops
or through my private Zentangle classes,
I have learned so many inspiring lessons.
I just wanted to share with you today.

Patience ... not every one is on the same level of understanding

Compassion ... others insecurities come out when they are learning something new

Joy ... how I love seeing someone create something for the first time
and get so excited at what they have accomplished

Honor ... how privileged I am to lead others to their art journey

Acceptance ... to learn that my work is truly good enough

Humbleness ... creating art can be hard for others,
it is not always an easy process
as it has become for me

LOVE ... I am glad to be with others and
want to share all that is within me

Responsibility ... others are looking up to me for guidance,
I take that very seriously and owe them my best work

Yielding ... working with a partner teaches us both
to understand and listen to what we both want
to project during our retreat experiences

Acknowledgement ... for just how far I have come in
my own artistic life

Wishing you peace, love and knowledge
for the rest of your week
I am honored to have you here!

An Artful Spirit number three ...

Just capturing a photo moment

Each and every time Suzan and I
create another
Artful Spirit Workshop
I am thrilled beyond measure
at the results of it all!

I have to say "pinch me please"
for the experience.
Yes there is so much pre-planning
to get to this point,
but so worth the effort put in to it!

I get so excited to see a student
who thinks they can't do it,
actually playing with art,
no judgement, no one better than the other,
no planning
just fun and happy play . . .
magic begins to happen!
The student who walked in that morning
is not the same when they walked out
carrying their bag full of goodies
and art stuff
THEY CREATED!

Here are some of my moments collected
from this past Saturday's workshop ...
happy creative moments
were had by all!
I obviously can't post them all!

Beginning with painted papers
Just starting the first creative exercise
Had to click a pic of me and my daughter n law Lauren
Hilary taking a shot for Instagram

Bright colors and words EVERYWHERE
Coming together to admire our work and take lots of pictures

Ten Thoughts on a Snowy Day . . .

Images from my snowy morning

Snow days are a gift

Nature has a way of slowing us down

We need to appreciate the beauty around us

Pajama days are luscious

Quiet writing time soothes the soul

My home is my safe sanctuary

Long naps are like dessert

Zentangle is my art passion

Poetry has captured my heart

Being married 37 years and one week is wonderful

WOW ... Celebrating 37 years of marriage

(Dating my surfer boy!)

Today is my 37th Anniversary!
We were married on January 15, 1977.
Can't believe I was just nineteen years old
and he was twenty!
We were just kids . . .
never really knowing what was lying ahead,
we just knew we wanted to do it together.
With very little money and a strong faith in God
we started our life journey!

It has been quite a beautiful ride
and we have enjoyed so many life experiences!

I believe living happily is also part of living Artfully,

and Jimmy has been a huge part of my
life happiness!
We have grown up together,
had ups and yes  ... a few downs,
had two incredible sons,
got them through the teen years and college,
watched them marry the loves of their lives
and pursue their own life goals,
and now we are in a new phase in life
grandparents to Annabelle Lily!

He has always watched me pursue new directions
with a thumbs up support,
which has allowed me to grow into who I am today!
I am a seeker always wanting to stretch my wings
Trust me ... never a dull moment in the Wynn household.

Here are just a few fun photos to share!
I am truly blessed
and
a very happy
Yogiknitgirl!
Yes today is a very good day!

Always me and him!
