Heading to the Sheep and Wool Festival!

How I love sheepies!

Well I am headed to the
again this year!

Every year on the first weekend in May,
I head myself to West Friendship, Maryland
to the Howard County Fairgrounds
for an amazing weekend
full of Sheep, yarn, shopping,
fellowship, celtic music,
more shopping, knitting,
yummy foods,
sheep shearing,
sheep dog trials,
more shopping,
exhibits
and so much inspiration.

I look forward to this festival every year
and this year, for just one moment,
I thought maybe I wouldn't go this year.
I truly have attended for over twenty five years,
and I couldn't bring myself to miss it this year.
I always enjoy the experience
and come home so inspired to
weave a little bit more,
pick up my knitting needles again
and come home with
so many adorable sheep photos!
This year I plan to carry my pocket
watercolors and sketchbook,
I want to come home with some
mini paintings!

Traditions are always good,
we learn to count on them.
Time away is always a good thing
and re-connecting with fiber friends
that I haven't seen in a year,
is always so special!
This festival is good for my creative soul,
I need it
what was I thinking when I said I might not go this year?????

So off I go!
Perhaps I will share some fun photos
next week,
right here ... same time ... next Wednesday!
